Boxing BC Association is a non-profit society as the recognized body governing amateur boxing in British Columbia and following the rules and regulations of Boxing Canada and AIBA.

To join, a person attends a club holding a charter with Boxing BC where membership application paperwork is provided.

For fitness Fitness programs such as boxercise or boxaerobic are based on a boxer’s training program and were designed for the general public using club facilities and equipment and are conducted by certified coaches. There is no sparring in these programs.
For competition Boxing training programs for conditioning and boxing skills, which eventually includes sparring, are conducted by qualified coaches at chartered clubs. Sparring is boxing training in the gym ring with a partner under the supervision of qualified coaches. It is the coach who will assess the skill level of the athlete to determine when a boxer is ready for competition.
The minimum age for competition is Cadet A – competitors who have reached their 11th birthday while there is no upper age limit in Canada, boxers having reached their 34th birthday are required to have a complete physical examination, with emphasis on heart and lungs, prior to competing in each tournament or competition. International rules state a boxer who is under 17 years or having reached the 34th birthday shall not take part in international matches.
